Tapping Vitality & Innovation
Wisdom, Wellness … & Redefining Work
The L.A. WizeWell Symposium
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seldom have times been so tough and at the same time the opportunities so high as right now. Incessant change, flat paychecks and a steady decline in wellness and satisfaction are seriously eroding our workforce assets. Stress is the great killer of innovation – how can your company act to reduce the root cause of stress, and thus initiate a surge of healthy creative energy throughout the workplace?
- At the L.A. WizeWell Symposium we will explore pragmatic new at-work methods for re-focusing employee attention beyond limiting habits and stressed emotions, toward positive present-moment participation in the unfolding of your company vision. This general approach to stress reduction and performance enhancement is based on new research in cognitive science, and carries the practical power to quickly recharge both one’s body and mind with renewed clarity and energy.
During the last decade, as our understanding of work has rapidly evolved, business executives and psychologists have come to agree that the prevailing mood, focus, intent, and health of one’s team is the pivot point of every organization’s success. Stressed-out employees who feel unhappy and unhealthy at work will pollute a company’s atmosphere with negativity – and drag that company down.
Conversely, a company of healthy team players who enjoy each other’s presence, share common core values, respect and support each other – this is predictably a company destined for greatness.
- Specifically, the attitudes, emotions, expectations, physical health and mental focus of each employee determine what actually gets accomplished each day. So, how can your employees learn to approach work in a way that creates a low-stress high-performance full-satisfaction atmosphere?
An employee’s focused power of attention determines everything that happens at work. In this Symposium we are going to discuss both the theory and the practical tools for purposefully helping employees manage their focus of attention consistently and correctly, so that over time they feel less stressed-out, more healthy and productive – and more satisfied with their work experience.
Medical studies have proven the surprising power of mental-focusing techniques (traditionally called mindfulness meditation) to effect positive changes both mentally, emotionally and physically. This mind-management technique impacts a great number of current ailments in our society, including: obesity, heart disease, diabetes, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, drug-abuse, ADHD, chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorder, brain-tissue recovery, etc.
- For this Symposium we have amassed a comprehensive review of 58 formal research studies documenting the effectiveness of new psychological technologies demonstrating how properly-focused attention (using special Focus Phrases) can predictably generate desired stress-reduction and health-boosting results in the workplace.
For the last decade, psychologists and medical researchers at NIH and elsewhere have been experimenting with new short-form at-work mind-management procedures that isolate the active psychological ingredient in traditional meditation – a temporary state of mind called mental silence, or thought-free attention.
The programs being introduced at our Symposium offer stream-lined, inexpensive, highly-effective methodologies that combine mindfulness meditation and cognitive science into a high-performance short-form process that all employees can readily learn and apply at work.
- These at-work Breather Break insertions enable employees to pause and quickly regain and recover their much-needed homeostatic balance, through an enjoyable re-focusing process that shifts them rapidly out of over-stressed chronic-thought mode, into a present-moment whole-body focus.
During such Breather Breaks (which can be scheduled 1 to 4 times during the workday) a set of special Focus Phrases (the active ingredient in the process) are employed. We will be examining these Focus Phrases during the Symposium in considerable depth, so that you can decide for yourself their impact.
- Quite distinct from positive affirmations (which are hopeful imaginations about a future goal), Focus Phrases are realistic verbal pointers that aim employee attention directly toward universally-accepted needs and intentions.
Research has demonstrated over and over that people who hold positive beliefs, attitudes, expectations and thoughts in their minds are more productive, healthy, empathic, successful, and satisfied with life than people who fixate overmuch on negative thoughts, attitudes, and expectations.
By inserting a new Focus Phrase into your work environment each day for 6 weeks, you guarantee that your employees are regularly focusing attention in the key directions that sustain a healthy company.
During the Symposium, all 7 speakers will explore various dimensions of new innovations for actively generating higher wellness, productivity, satisfaction, and innovation in the workplace. We welcome you to participate in this timely exploration of new approaches to reducing stress and boosting positive indicators at work.
